Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to present and speak to groups, large and small. Whether the topic is business-related, inspirational or about my experience overcoming metastatic breast cancer, it's always a thrill.
In 2021, I began leading a Cancer Support Group under the community outreach arm of my church, Mosaic Church in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The group is open to cancer patients, cancer survivors and support givers, who would like to connect and find support among others who are going through or have experienced the cancer journey. I found this type of support to be extremely nurturing to me during my own cancer journey and it's something I find has been sadly lacking in our communities since the pandemic hit.
We meet online every other Thursday at 7 pm Central on Zoom. The format of the meetings includes beginning and ending with prayer with a group discussion of a particular topic for that week. (While spiritual topics may be discussed, it's important to note that this is not a Bible Study.)
The group is free and open to anyone, whether or not they attend church or have a faith background.
